Now to the real story behind our brand!
Awesome to have you here! My name is Andrew the co-founder of Fun Pandas. Let me take you back to the beginning of our story. In mid-2018, during the hottest months of the year, I traveled with a few friends to Hong Kong for a summer holiday. So we visited Ocean Park in Hong Kong, which was highly recommended to my friends and I, especially being the best theme park in Hong Kong. After looking past all the exciting amusement games and electrifying roller coaster rides, I finally found myself wandering about the animal park and conservation. Lo and behold a massive 100kg giant panda stood sat before me chowing down an endless amount of leaves. This inspired the love and fascination for these adorable and cute pandas.

Fun fact, black pandas (like Master Po in Kung Fu Panda) were previously endangered but now have been upgraded to vulnerable! This means we (humanity) are doing well in our conservation effort to preserve the life of these mammals. Although, there are many more animals that don't get the same love and attention. Then we also have the petite and cute furry red pandas that are so fluffy. They too have an inquisitive mind as they climb away hiding in the trees and chowing on leaves. There's nothing like their wide eyes staring back at you, which makes them so adorable. They're very shy, but when you get up and close to them, all you want to do is give them a big hug. However, they're not a domesticated animal although some people have been known to keep them as pets. Unlike the black pandas, red pandas are endangered. As the National Geographic says, a species is classified as endangered when its population has declined between 50 and 70 percent. This decline is measured over 10 years or three generations of the species, whichever is longer. According to the to World Wildlife Fund they are working in Nepal to help protect these beautiful red pandas from being endangered.
Back to the story. The pandas weren't just the only inspiration for our brand. It's also the sheer experience when you win or buy a plush toy whenever you go to a carnival fair or an amusement park. Plush toys are so fluffy, cute, and beautiful that it gives you this euphoric joy that leaves you bewitched, as if you were high on something. There are so many awesome and cool products in the world that we would buy instantly if they were presented in front of us. However, due to our busy lives, we only get to buy such unique and eccentric toys and items only when we intentionally go on an adventure.
So back in 2019, I was wondering about the possibility to start an online store, which soon was becoming a reality. The journey began to bring love to the world through certain wonderful products and items that are often a little hard to find. After finding a reliable team and a friend to partner up together, we got to work! We launched our initial concept by mid 2019 and presented our initial product line. It was received with a warm welcome and the feedback from everyone was amazing! We heard your stories and started finding things that our customers wanted and were thrilled about! We too caught your wave of excitement and so we got to work again continuously finding trends, new items, gifts, clothes, and accessories to bring smiles to our customers. Overtime our own ethos within our team at Fun Pandas has grown and has started to take shape. Our desire at Fun Pandas is to bring about joy by providing quality jubilant merchandise that will bring a smile to your face and deliver to you amazing gifts to love and create memorable moments with you.
There are always challenges to overcome along the way!
In 2020 the year of the COVID-19 world pandemic, we have faced some setbacks with our supply chain and overcoming the challenges of product delays and shipping worldwide. Some of this was chasing lost items in transit or finding out there's been a backlog of items that are unable to move due to state or countrywide lockdowns. Thankfully we persevered, and we thank those who were understanding and patient with us too. We're grateful for all our friendly customers and together we've managed to get past this hurdle.
We're not giving up on our customers to provide durable quality items that are delivered right to you. And we're also rolling out improvements as we go along the way, such as free shipping. We're on the journey and we'd love to invite you along with us!
